Santiago is the business center with the government offices, stock exchange and for transportation features a large and modern International Airport at Pudahuel, about 25 KM. Santiago has some great tourist things like San Cristobal hill (mountain) that has spectacular city views if the smog doesn't get in the way, yes they have that too. Santiago is the capital and principal city of Chile, situated in the country's central valley at an altitude of 520 metres. Over the last two decades, the city has experienced excellent economic growth and has become one of Latin America.s most attractive and influential cities, which is just one of the great reasons people choose to learn Spanish in Santiago de Chile

Santiago is graced with a mix of colonial and modern architecture, tree-lined streets, several parks, distinctive neighborhoods, and an ample assortment of restaurants and shops. The city has a modern, secure and efficient metro system which makes traveling around the city easy and worry-free. Santiago is quite temperate though it sees distinct seasons. Spring (Sept-Nov) has temperatures ranging from 59F-79F (15C-26 C) and is normally dry.

Santiago is laid out with great regularity, and its comparatively broad straight streets form parallelograms and enclose several handsome public squares, the Plaza de la Independencia, the Campo de Marte and others. The principal streets have been repaved with asphalt instead of the old cobblestone and Belgian block pavements; water is brought in through an aqueduct (1865) 5 m. Santiago is graced with tree-lined streets, parks, distinctive neighborhoods, ample assortment of restaurants and hotels. In addition to its own attractions, Santiago is near ski resorts, beach resorts and the ideal base for excursions into the Central Valley and either extreme of Chile. Santiago is a giant city and it is constantly growing. It is best to find a place that is close to a metro stop or easily accessible by bus.

Santiago is also centrally located, making it a convenient home base for trips to the north, south, and central coastal regions. Santiago is the capital and largest city in Chile. Santiago has a mild Mediterranean climate: relatively hot dry summers (November to March) with temperatures reaching up to 35 degrees Celsius (95 degrees Fahrenheit) on the hottest days; winters (June to August) are more humid. Santiago is very much the center of the world as far as Chileans are concerned. For nightlife, eating out, or anything at all this is the place to be.

Santiago is one of the most polluted cities in Latin America. Trapped in a valley surrounded by the Andes on the east and a coastal mountain range on the west, the capital suffers a thermal inversion during the winter that keeps pollutants from dispersing. Santiago was founded by Pedro de Valdivia on February 12th 1541. This is a cosmopolitan city on the banks of the Mapocho River. Santiago is famous for it’s wine and offers wine tasting right in the city. Conchay Toro, Chile’s most famous winery has wine tasting available in a Napa Valley-style tasting room along with a gift shop.

Santiago is Chile’s capital and largest city. It is situated at an elevation of 520 m (1700 ft) in the country's central valley, and administratively is a part of the Santiago Metropolitan Region. Santiago is garnished with an assortment of barrios, each a multi-faceted neighbourhood with a distinct flavour and sense of community. There’s cosy Bellavista , a residential area at the foothill of the Cerro San Cristbal, once home to Nobel-laureate Pablo Neruda and scene of an astonishing nightly transformation with its scores of bars, restaurants and artsy shops. Santiago is the commercial hub and capital city of Chile. For a great view of the city, get the cable car to the top of St Christopher’s Hill.
